Angels second baseman Sean Rodriguez actually struck out in the fourth inning on Thursday at
Comerica Park on a 4-2 pitch. Rodriguez took two balls to take it to a 3-2 count officially -- when
he should have walked. Since the Angels didn't catch the mistake, there was no course for appeal...

Looks like the runner is related to Devin Hester or Barry Sanders. Either way, very embarrassing

Jason Giambi launched a blast and later a game-winning bullet, rocking the aging house for what was
surely the last Yankees-Red Sox game at this Yankee Stadium. The heroics by the lame-duck former
star at the about-to-be-demolished ballpark salvaged a game, spared some more bad feelings and
brought rare glee. Yet, they only temporarily put off

Jim Thome tied Mickey Mantle for 14th place with his 536th career homer, Gavin Floyd won his fifth

A baseball fan says a uniformed police officer (perhaps off-duty but working security for overtime)
forcibly ejected him from the stadium last night during the Yankees-Red Sox game. Why? He says all
he did was try to go to the bathroom while "God Bless America" was played during the 7th inning
stretch.

When interviewed by ESPN, Obama made his allegiance clear: "You go to Wrigley Field, you have a
beer, beautiful people up there. People aren't watching the game. It's not serious. White Sox,
that's baseball. Southside."

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- Nine-year-old Jericho Scott is a good baseball player -- too good, it
turns out.The right-hander has a fastball that tops out at about 40 mph. He throws so hard that the

Major League Baseball had a significant opportunity to market the game via the Beijing Olympics, but
by allowing a U.S. roster comprised of a mix of prospects and older fringe big leaguers, MLB has
foregone that opportunity and likely sealed the sport's fate as an Olympic event.

We'd like to ask one little question of all those people in L.A. who are showering their man Manny
Ramirez with so much love: What the heck are you cheering for? For a man who decided his personal
net worth was more important than an entire franchise and all the people who played with him,
covered for him, depended on him?
